The Italian phrase "Conciati Per Le Feste", which literally means in English Dressed For The Holidays, in Italian has got two meanings. One, which is the exact interpretation of what an English person would assume by looking at a dictionary (Dressed For The Holidays), while the second meaning, for a native Italian, would refer to someone that is going through a rough patch.

Whoever has known the Italian singer/songwriter and pianist Vinicio Capossela artistically for a while, an artist that loves to marry Jazz with Ethnic Folklore as his signature style, knows by know and very well that Capossela enjoys a lot playing with words, as a principle, in his bodies of work, either in an ironic form or in a more profound one.

The idea of making music in 2024 and having to brand a label to it, genre wise, it has become sadly the normal, in the world of contemporary music.

Rather fortunately, though, every once in a while, there are still, out there, those very few musicians that still believe music is uncalculated art and, as such, it should be completely free-form and reflect exactly the personality and the artistic flair of said artists.

It has been a while, now, for our website, since we had the opportunity to watch performing one of British hottest Blues/Rock gunslingers around, Ben Poole.

Poole, who has been constantly on Tour around the world before and after Covid19 on the back of the success of his last studio album released back in 2018 and called Anytime You Need Me, has received numerous accolades from both his fellow colleagues in the music business and the fans worldwide, fast-growing his reputation as one of the most talented contemporary Blues/Rock guitarists coming from the United Kingdom.

One of the most loved musical events happening in the capital of the United Kingdom, the glorious London Jazz Festival that this year marks its 25th years, since it started, couldn't end in a more spectacular way than welcoming the young American prodigy Jazz singer Añais Reno as the Festival's closing act.

 
At the tender age of 19, Reno has already largely impressed the enormous Jazz community in the United States and beyond with her talent and incredible vocal skills, thanks also through her 2020's debut album called Lovesome Thing: Añais Reno sings Ellington & Strayhorn, a record that has landed to the young Jazz singer numerous accolades from the worldwide music press and Jazz lovers.

There was a lot of trepidation and excitement for the arrival of superstar Japanese instrumental pianist and composer Hiromi in the UK capital city, as part of the London Jazz Festival 2023.
 
On the back of her brand new and very successful album called Sonicwonderland, which our website has recently reviewed too, the celebrated and very talented Japanese has brought with her a real army of musicians for the London performance at the Barbican Theatre, so much so that Hiromi had decided, for this very special musical event, to perform two separate live sets, one with her piano quintet, made by two violins, a viola and a cello and the second and much longer one, with her current touring band, which is the same that has also played on Hiromi's brand new album.

It's always a healthy sign, for the music industry, to see that illustrious artists that have done so well in their career still carry, within themselves, that sparkle that lights their fleur and their inspiration to keep on writing new and very interesting material.

This is pretty much the case of the British guitar Maestro Robin Trower, who, after a long hiatus from the Blues/Rock scenes, has made a remarkable return with a new album called Joyful Sky, which features one of the most talented and highly skilled singer/songwriter around, Sari Schorr.
