Stories Don't End.

And that's a good thing.

Los Angeles rock band, Dawes, had the honor of opening for the legendary, Bob Dylan. Dawes introduced themselves expecting that the audience didn't know their music. This surprised me, because the last time I saw Dawes, they ruled the Fort Stage at the 2012 Newport Folk Fest. Thousands of fans were gathered to see this exciting set of vibrant artists, step right in to the shoes and eventually share the spotlight, with Jackson Browne, Jim James, Tom Morello, and Sarah Watkins. We knew who they were, and I suspect many in the audience tonight did too.

THE REAL: Another First Step

Toronto rock band, THE REAL have been playing live shows and running EP's for quite some time now. There is a loyal following of this band for good reason. They take their songs and improve on them, rather than cranking out more, it is quality over quantity.

For example, the song, "Becks" has been on the web for well over two years. I've heard both live and recorded versions played with focus, and each take gets tighter and tighter.

PHISH at Bethel Woods, May 27, 2011

Well have I been forever changed by my latest musical experience. On Friday night I had the awesome treat of going to see Phish at Bethel Woods. I don't know much about their music except for the stuff I had heard on Sirius Satellite Radio. Jam band is what Ive heard them referred to. Very much along the lines of the Dead.

Well Ive learned over the many years of seeing live music that if I have the chance to see a band live GRAB IT!!!!!!! The alternative being sitting in front of the tv channel surfing.
